Computer Imaging for Rhinoplasty Surgery

There has been a long-standing stigma of Rhinoplasty patients as being too picky or unrealistic in their expectations. Dr. Slupchynskyj believes this may primarily be a result of poor patient-doctor communication. An excellent, experienced surgeon using a good computer imaging system can set realistic expectations for the patient and ensure that patient and surgeon are marching to the beat of the same drummer.

What Is Computer Imaging?

Computer imaging is “morphing” software where digital photos of the patient are manipulated to show what the actual surgical result will be. Without computer imaging, patients show pictures or images of other people with noses they like versus working with images of their own face and nose.

Will My Actual Nose Surgery Results Match the Imaged Result?

“There is no reason why actual post-operative results should not be very close to the imaged result,” Dr. Slupchynskyj states.

Only a surgeon with top-notch surgical skills can prove a very close correlation between the patient’s computer image and the actual result. Dr. Slupchynskyj’s Computer Imaging Software gives his patients an excellent approximation of how they will look after Rhinoplasty Nose Surgery.

Why Don’t All Surgeons Use Computer Imaging for Rhinoplasty?

Those who don’t use this tool may not be able to stand by their results. Some doctors prefer not to promise a result from a computer image.

40 year old female requesting refined nasal bridge, tip definition and nostril narrowing. Dr. Slupchynskyj refined the bridge using the SLUPimplant™, while defatting and sculpting the nasal tip using cartilage shilled and strut grafts. The nostrils were brought in a bit through Dr. Slupchynskyj’s horizontal and vertical narrowing technique.

Before Image After

22 year old female complied of broad nasal dorsum, wide nostrils and lack of definition in nasal tip. Dr. Slupchynskyj’s performed a rasp and cartilage shave technique with bilateral osteotomies and redefined the nasal dorsum with a customized silastic implant, the SLUPimplant™, which slightly elevated the bridge.
